Never heard of a residency? Actually, it's a different set up at each of the venues - your usual Showband ( Larry, Mark, Nick,& Zoe,) at The Dirty South; a very stripped down version at The White Lion, without Nick and Zoe, but with Sister Francesca and Be Atwell joining in (which is lovely and laid back, and it's great to see Fran get a chance to sing some more too); and at Jamm we've only recently got the Showband back after several months of being headlined by Rob's new band (The Nihilistics). When The Showband play there it's always pretty riotous with various people joining them on stage throughout the set and a lot of freestyling from Be and Errol (and sometimes random members of the audience or from other bands joining in too). Sometimes some great unplanned stuff goes on too, like the other month when Larry and D.Wayne started rapping with the djs. It might seem strange, but I've been to all of the Jamm gigs and never get bored of seeing them. And there's always some strange new delights from the other unsigned bands, and wierdness from Subterfuge Cabaret to keep you entertained...
